Garden Style System Courses
Characteristics
Delicate, wild, and romantic—these qualities have become synonymous with Tashi’s work. Working with flowers over nearly ten years in Southern Europe has deepened his understanding of European floral art. His creations combine the natural, breathing essence of the garden, infused with the romantic charm of the French Rococo period. His signature embroidery techniques seamlessly blend French regal elegance with the relaxation and laziness of garden plants. As a doctor cum laude, Tashi relies on a solid system of theoretical knowledge rather than just feelings. The consistent quality of his artistic works reflects a strong foundation in floral principles. He has developed and refined a range of theories around garden-style floral art, for example: warm and cool light balancing color theory, embroidery techniques, and his signature non spiral techniques. From multiple perspectives, he analyzes the logic behind natural beauty itself, exploring the core principles that create striking visual impacts rooted in natural and aesthetic harmony.About
Tashi is a garden-style floral artist who prefers to describe his work using the poetic rhythm and unique languor of garden plants. Advanced 3-dimensional color palette
Building upon the three Advanced Garden-Style modules, we offer a specialized learning programme in colour and light, tailored to students' individual learning progress and development.Rooted in the three-dimensional colour theory of Garden-Style floral design, this module explores the interaction of light, shadow and colour within spatial compositions. Students will also examine the differences between human visual perception and how cameras and digital devices capture floral arrangements.Combining the principles of colour physics and chemistry with three-dimensional floral practice, the course investigates how different light spectra interact with floral materials, revealing the underlying principles of colour harmony and contrast. The curriculum is divided into a series of advanced topics, including Tonal Unity, Colour Bridging, Warm–Cool Light Contrast, Grey and Red Light Variations, and Exposure & Shadow Zones. Each theoretical concept is explored through carefully selected floral projects, with techniques and applications introduced progressively from basic to advanced levels. The modules follow a carefully structured learning sequence and must be completed in order. Each stage builds upon the knowledge and skills acquired in the previous one, allowing students to develop a deeper and more systematic understanding of three-dimensional colour in floral art.
Beyond Colour, Into Light and Space.
In my Garden-Style Colour Course, I explore the complexity of colour in three-dimensional floral compositions, moving beyond traditional colour combinations to discover how tones interact, transform and create depth under changing light.
Drawing from my background in fine arts and years of floral design experience, I share my understanding of colour through observation, artistic expression and practical exploration.
My aim is not simply to teach colour combinations, but to help each student develop their own sensitivity, perception and language of colour.
